It took me a long time to start this log this morning. I don't know why. Might have been the spider incident. But that is for detail tomorrow. Can't go writing about something without proper reflection. Especially spiders.
The cruel irony of the Gold Coast is that it does actually get cold. But because you can't prepare for it like in places that are "really" cold, you feel it more. I think it is because the day might start at three degrees, but by 10:00 it is 20 degrees and sun-baking weather. So, if you layer, you end up carrying massive amounts of crap around. So you just accept it, get cold, then complain. Yesterday morning was freezing. Worsened by my leaving my back door open (the actual door). At three O'clock, my naked unconsciousness was interrupted by cold testicles. Under a sheet, blanket and doona. I put on track-pants to resume sleep.
At six, I woke up for real and restarted my beloved routine. By eight I had my days work prepared and headed for coffee with the sister and niece at the Barefoot's baby brother the Borough. With no power for coffee for the first five minutes, we chatted with locals and pointed out properties for the mother. Coffeed up I walked home and striped for a session of naked writing and sunbaking.
I wrote my heart out until two, with minor breaks for business work, and then started watching Gnomeo and Juliet. Far out, Elton John is a funny fucker. The whole thing is scored to rewritten Elton songs, and has completely distorted the Shakespeare tale... It was sensational. I have always found Shakespeare to be too melodramatic at times. I appreciate his work, have acted in a few of his plays, but overall he could use some loosening up.
On that point, in terms of gay movies people need to watch; "Were the world mine" (Seriously gay, Shakespeare derived musical.), "Beautiful Thing" (UK cinema at its best), "Shelter" (Hot surfers getting it on). Apparently tails of the city is good too (conveyed opinion; not mine).
With no car, due to unforeseen undercarriage damage, sister picked me up and took me to her place for dinner. Thai pumpkin and coconut soup, SO BLOODY GOOD! She then gave me her car, with strict orders to be at the station at 4:45 to pick her up the next day.
